The Evolution of the Hyundai Company

Hyundai company is a South Korean car manufacturer that first appeared on the market in the 1960s. This Hyundai, a product of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, has been one of a few Asian automobile companies to successfully enter the European and American automotive industries.

This car was first created by one Chung Ju Yung, an inventor and car manufacturer that came from a family of farmers in Korean. Yung found the money to build his first car from a construction business his family owned. The Hyundai Motor Company went into business with Ford Company in 1968. Using Ford’s resources, the first Hyundai car put into assembly line production was the Cortina. This car was followed by several others including the Pony which was the first fully Korean model car.

The Pony did borrow Japanese technology, including some from the Mitsubishi to complete its early designs however. 


The Advent of the Sonata


The Sonata was the first mid-size car that marked at truly original era for the Korean car manufacturer, one where the Korean company worked diligently to build a strong brand image. Previous to building the Sonata, Hyundai had not gained much in the way of public opinion because of poor reliability and manufacturing. The Sonata however, proved to be a reliable and trustworthy car, worthy of attracting investment in the car manufacturer. 

Buyer confidence began to improve after the innovation of this latest technological superstar. Because of this and many other vehicles that followed, Hyundai soon earned a reputation among other top car manufacturers, one that soon landed it among the top 10 manufacturers in the globe.

Today Hyundai produces cars in more than 193 countries, offering quality vehicles that are recognized for their value as well as their quality. The brand is often considered to be one of the most valuable in all the world among automobile manufacturers.
