NEW TECHNOLOGY IN CARS BECOMING STANDARD

Today, technology in cars has jumped to new levels. Technology that before was only available in luxury vehicle has trickled down to non luxury ones. For instance, lets consider the Hyundai Sonata 2015/2016 story.

The Hyundai Sonata 2015, which as of this date, can be bought for under $27,000, features these new technologies:

Forward collision warning system - which alerts you when you are driving at a speed that could result in a collision.

Sonar sensors that detect cars in blind spots

Smart Cruise control, which sets a speed and the keeps that speed whenever possible. When a car comes too close from a present distance, the vehicle stops automatically for you.

8-inch navigation screen with rear camera

Indeed, technology has reached the public at a pace only dreamed before.

The Evolution of the Kia Brand Car Company

At first glimpse Kia might stand for just about anything; the word is short, snappy and quick, a marketers dream. That is probably what the Korean car manufacturer was thinking when they sought a name for the playful and fun car they created from its moment of conception in 1944, when the Kia first found its foothold not as a car, but as a bicycle.

From Pedal To Car

The Kia began as a bike, followed by a scooter, and eventually moved on up the world of transportation to convert to a motorcycle. Finally Kia manufacturers worked their way through the process of transforming the Kia machine into something that was more suited to multiple travelers. That is when the company began building cars, a process that took place in the 1970s.

The first Kia car was a medium sized passenger car that was named interestingly enough, Brisa. This name sounds as interesting as the name Kia, sending notions of breezes and billowing winds through the mind’s eye.

Kia later developed more technologically advanced automobiles, having glanced at cars like the Fiat, whom the company partnered with while producing other technology. During the 80s Hyundai was the Korean automobile leader in car manufacturing. Kia’s newer models during this time included the Pride, also known as the Ford Festiva.

Modern Car Marvels

Kia was still struggling to come up with a product that would sell in the US. In 1992 however, that would change, as the Kia brand incorporated in the US and began selling vehicles. One of the most sellable features Kia had to offer was its pricing strategy, which was incredible, affordable for sport utility vehicles. Kia started offering the Sportage in 1995, although it struggled due to management difficulties.

Using Ford’s resources, the first Hyundai car put into assembly line production was the Cortina. This car was followed by several others including the Pony which was the first fully Korean model car.

The Pony did borrow Japanese technology, including some from the Mitsubishi to complete its early designs however.

The Advent of the Sonata

The Sonata was the first mid-size car that marked at truly original era for the Korean car manufacturer, one where the Korean company worked diligently to build a strong brand image. Previous to building the Sonata, Hyundai had not gained much in the way of public opinion because of poor reliability and manufacturing. The Sonata however, proved to be a reliable and trustworthy car, worthy of attracting investment in the car manufacturer.

Buyer confidence began to improve after the innovation of this latest technological superstar. Because of this and many other vehicles that followed, Hyundai soon earned a reputation among other top car manufacturers, one that soon landed it among the top 10 manufacturers in the globe.

Today Hyundai produces cars in more than 193 countries, offering quality vehicles that are recognized for their value as well as their quality. The brand is often considered to be one of the most valuable in all the world among automobile manufacturers.

How The Oil Crisis Affected The US Automotive World

To understand the oil crisis and how it affected and affects the automotive world, one has to look at the history of what has happened to oil in the United States. Some people do not really consider the state of oil in the United States to be in crisis yet, although many will admit the US has endured energy and oil crises in the past.

The current state of crude oil is one where the US is experiencing a spike or increase in pricing. The state of the economy and natural resources suggest that this is the result of many affairs which began during the very late 1990s. Part of the spike in prices began due to Middle Eastern struggles, including policy changes that resulted from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. Since that time the US has kept a high pricing strategy.

Arab Oil Embargo During the 70s

The worst oil crises happened ruing the 70s. During this time the Arab oil embargo occurred in 1973 causing crude oil prices to increase from three dollars per barrel to over twelve per barrel. The next crisis occurred in 1979 as a result of the Iranian revolution, which caused another dramatic increase in prices to thirty-six dollars per barrel of crude oil.

Another jump in prices was seen following the Persian Gulf War which occurred in the early 1990s. This compounded the previous two oil crises in the United States.

How Oil Prices Have Affected Automobile Manufacturers

Perhaps the biggest effect the larger prices on oil have caused in the United States is to inspire greater innovation and fuel efficiency. More people are looking to economize using alternative fuels. Manufacturers are trying to make more fuel-efficient gasoline engines. Consumers are now looking at diesel engines as an option. It seems no matter what happens with oil, consumers will always have ways to work around a crisis, whether that is to their fuel supply or to raw materials supplies in the United States. This trend will undoubtedly be reflected globally.

Get Better Mileage With Magic Fuel – How Does it Work?

Wouldn't it be great if there was a product that could save fuel? If there was something magical that could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your fuel, whether that was diesel fuel or gasoline? What if I told you yes, there was?

The Power of Fuel Magic

Fuel Magic is a fuel additive that promises just that. It is a combustion modifier. It works by increasing the chemical cetane in diesel fuel. It attracts to metal, so it creates a very fine film that removes combustion deposits. When these are present in gasoline engines, they reduce the demand on octane in the engine.
That means that your engine performs better using less fuel.
Fuel Magic suggests that you can reduce the amount of average fuel that you use by 8%. The 2 ounce bottle can treat up to 80 gallons of gas. Fuel mileage gained as a result of using Fuel Magic may vary depending on the type of fuel that you use, the condition of your vehicle and engine, and the driving conditions that are available.

Improved Combustion

The basic method by which Fuel Magic works is by improving combustion. Fuel Magic also works by providing more lubrication to the engine, which also helps the engine work less hard, and by improving the cleanliness of the engine and its output.
By cleaning the engine, reducing the combustion, and improving lubrication, the engine is able to increase output and power. Fuel Magic claims it can increase power anywhere from 2 to 5 percent, in new engines. With engines that have a lot of wear or accumulated miles, Fuel Magic should be able to improve the power by much more, because Fuel Magic is doing a lot more, cleaning a lot more, and working a lot harder.

The Cleaner Future

We all know that the planet faces a lot of pollution and is beginning to change because of it. Finding a way to resolve the problem has been a struggle for many who don't want to make the necessary changes. Some states have come up with new plans to help make the world a cleaner place to live in. California is one state that has taken a hard look at the damaged caused to the earth and put into motion many plans to make the environment cleaner.

In 1967 California developed the first and only state run board to help come up with a greener way of living. With this new development came the California Air Resources Board which enabled the state to produce rules regulating the way Californians drive in the state. This board also granted scientist permission to work on projects that enabled them to find ways to keep the air cleaner.

Duran's Auto Glass can help you with any auto glass repair in Fremont, California. For professional auto glass repairs and installations, call us today!
With the development of the CARB came the development of PZEV restrictions on automobiles. PZEV, or Partial Zero Emission Vehicle, were created as a compromise to the auto industry. These cars are designed to produce less emissions, without forcing car dealerships to create cars that actually create no emissions. As time progresses this standard is meant to change to no emission cars, but for never every car registered in California is meant to have to pass a SMOG test before successfully being registered in the state. This is designed to cut back emissions as much as possible until the no emission cars can be designed more efficiently for consumers.

California is slowly making a change in the right direction. Despite CARB being established several decades ago, the environment in California still needs a lot improvement. The state still has one of the worst pollution rates in urban areas and many of the world's worst water supplies are found in this state. With things rapidly speeding up many people will  soon be purchasing no emission vehicles that will take away a lot of the pollution burden.

Reducing Pollution with PZEZ

With pollution being at an all time high the government is trying hard to find ways to reduce the pollution that is emitted in the United States. This is particularly being studied in the auto industry as it is known to cause a great amount of pollution in many cities. One solution to the problem was the introduction of PZEZ cars.

A PZEZ is a partial zero emissions vehicle. This means that the car still puts out some emissions but it isn't highly as pollutant as other cars on the market. PZEZ was created by the government of California so that the auto industry could postpone the introduction of the hybrid and electric cars. The PZEZ cars we a compromise so that the auto industry would have more time to come up with a better way of creating a marketing the newer energy efficient cars.

Duran's Auto Glass can help you with any mobile auto glass repair in Hayward, California. For professional auto glass repairs and installations, call us today!
In order to pass a PZEZ inspection cars must follow all of the SULEV standards. This includes a zero evaporative emissions system and a 15 year extended warranty on the emissions fuel system. PZEZ cars also don't always qualify for tax deductions or the car pool lane because they aren't as fuel efficient as hybrid and other no emission cars. You also can't find these cars in most states because there aren’t laws enforcing low emission vehicles. In fact, California, Maine, Vermont, New York and Massachusetts are the only states that actually call for PZEZ standards.

If you are looking for an easy way to help save the environment then you might want to check out PZEZ vehicles. Generally, these low emission cars are cheaper than the hybrids and other new model cars that run zero emissions systems. You might find that doing this small thing for the environment will encourage others to help out in the fight to lower the pollution we cause.
